Jeremy Ryan Martin Bio
"My Journey"
Like many young teenage kids Jeremy Ryan Martin discovered his love for Music at the age of 13. Music was a source of comfort his entire life from the time he could remember. His mother loved music and loved to sing. She introduced him to many different types of music but the style of music that seemed to always be her favorite was classic rock & country. "I remember the first cassette that was given to me was Cinderella (Night Songs) when I was about 8yrs old". He said that tape didn't leave his Walkman for a very long time.
Jeremy had a rough childhood growing up with a single mom and his younger brother. He grew up without a father figure and lacked stable role models. They moved around allot and life wasn't always the best but drawing, writing music & playing his guitar really helped him get through the those hard times. He found strength in the unwavering support of his childhood sweetheart-now his wife and a small circle of close friends who became like family over the years.
He was always drawn to hard rock & heavy metal style music. Growing up in the late 80's & early 90's he listened to bands like Metallica, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Candlebox & many other rock bands at that time. You can definitely hear their influence in his music. His originality and song writing style though sets him apart from current artist.
He helped formed his first band with a few of his middle school buddies back in the early 90's where he first started playing the bass guitar which quickly transitioned to the electric guitar shortly after. Jeremy started writing poetry at a young age which started as love letters where he poured his feelings to his childhood sweetheart while expressing himself through illustration, painting, and even experimenting with tattoo art in his teens. Around the age of 15, he began transforming his poetry into lyrics, collaborating closely with a fellow musician and friend who shared those formative early days with him. He began singing and writing his own music somewhere around the age of 17 and by his 30's he had played in a few different Rock style bands. He spent years honing his craft in home recording studios, learning the art of recording and mixing from seasoned musicians in the local scene—many of whom held formal degrees in sound engineering.
He formed a rock band in his late 20's called MIND STATE that played around the Chattanooga, TN area locally for about 6years. He then started focusing more on his solo music career in-between playing with his band and musicians working on other side projects. When he was 28 yrs old his wife and band mates encouraged him to audition for Americas Got Talent 3rd Season in Nashville TN. He didn't make the live shows but it was a "Really Cool Experience" he says. "My Wife & I spent hours waiting in line in the cold in downtown Nashville before we finally arrived inside the building to even check in". He was told to better form his craft and artist identity to better define who he wanted to be as a musician and try returning the following year to re-audition. He unfortunately never made it back.
Jeremy has been playing the guitar for many years now and continually works to better mold his craft & his skills as a lead guitar player/song writer. He has now released five songs on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music and multiple other streaming services where he has been experiencing a positive response from listeners and quickly developing a fan base. He has plans to release multiple songs this year & hopes to eventually focus on his music full time and start playing shows in areas where he is beginning to develop a strong fan base.
Jeremy has always felt that the music he has written helped him get through the hard times he experienced in his life & hopes his music will help others get through their hard times. "I love to play my guitar and write songs but theirs no better feeling than to see someone else enjoy what I've written". ~Jeremy Ryan Martin
